Clara Oswald Cosplay // Wish List
Last night I (finally!) got to see the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special in theaters. And although it wasn't quite all that I'd hoped, I still really loved it.
As cool as it was to see David Tennant as the Doctor again, I think I was equally amazed at Clara's awesome outfit. Working retail definately has it's downsides (*coughs*blackfriday*coughs*), but one of the perks of the job is knowing exactly where to find the clothes and shoes you so desperately crave. Since I already knew of two good stand-ins for part of Clara's outfit, I thought I'd put together a short guide of how to get her look. Let me know what you think.
P.S. I'm really hoping my parents decide to give me money for a Barbour jacket from the shop I work at, for my 20th birthday next month. It's the last thing I need to be the absolute perfect companion. Lol. Jk. (but not really)

Memory of Trees // What I Wore
{dress//thrifted :: tights//We Love Colors :: boots//Sorel :: scarf//local boutique :: cardigan//borrowed :: belt//thrifted :: bag//Emma Fox via TJ Maxx}
This is one of my favorite scarves this autumn - it's a pretty floral pattern with white skulls and I kind of really love the girly-meets-edgy feel of it. I'm also head-over-heels in love with these boots. they're super cute, got a nice wedge-height, are waterproof and are one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes/boots I've ever worn! I seriously don't think you could make a more perfect boot. <3

Bit of a Nerd // What I Wore
{sweatshirt//Target :: skirt//Etsy :: boots//Sorel :: pink necklace//local boutique :: clock necklace//vintage :: belt//thrifted :: jacket// TopShop :: bag//Emma Fox via TJ Maxx :: lipstick//Revolution by Urban Decay in "Anarchy"}
Is there really anything better than a good graphic tee? I didn't think so until I discovered my love for sweatshirts, and thereby my love of graphic sweatshirts. So freakin' comfy! I wore a very similar outfit to nearly a full year ago. I guess some things just never get old.
Jurassic Park is definitely one of the more cheesy movies of our life time, but my childhood love of dinosaurs refuses to let me dislike it. And since heather grey is quickly becoming one of my favorite colors, I just couldn't pass this sweatshirt up when I found it at Target last week.
And last - but not least - I'm really loving my purple hair lately. It makes me feel edgy, sassy and little (or a lot!) like a pop star. Maybe I should start spelling my name with a "y"? That's how most people spell it anyway... *winks*

Wearing Lady Clothes // What I Wore
{skirt//local boutique :: sweatshirt//Plato's Closet :: scarf//gift :: boots//Sorel :: bracelet//thrifted :: watch//Francesca's Collections :: necklace//Old Navy :: jacket//TopShop :: purse//Emma Fox via TJ Maxx :: lipstick//Revolution by Urban Decay in "Anarchy"}
Lately I've been trying to get back into the groove of life. For a while I've felt sort of depressed and just plain off. I've slept a lot, watched a lot of TV, and the dressiest I've been is jeans and a nice sweater. Getting involved in my church has helped a lot, though. I've made some really super-awesome friends, who are a blast to hang out with, and that makes everything seem a little bit better. I've even been wearing lady clothes again...
In other news this "skirt" is actually an awesome jersey sleeveless dress that is so much fun to wear around my waist with a sweatshirt over it. As a tall girl I never get to have dresses that come down to my heels (especially not with wedges!) so I loved walking around with this "skirt" trailing on the ground around my feet.
I like to think that my purple ombre topknot is pretty rad, too. *winks*
P.S. Anyone catch the Thor 2 reference in this post?

Skull and Crossbones // What I Wore
{blouse//Plato's Closet :: jeans//Target via thrifted :: flats//Me Too :: dog bracelet//H&M :: flower bracelet//gift :: watch//Francesca's Collections :: necklace//Betsy Johnson :: bag//Emma Fox via T.J. Maxx}
Lately I've been drawn to unusually casual outfits. Not that this is really casual, but coming from the girl who wore dresses seven times out of ten this sudden addiction to jeans feels so out of place. Seriously, though, I want almost every pair of jeans I see in stores. No joke.The skull pattern of this blouse is also out of character for me - I think something about being almost 20 is making me crave pieces with a little bit more "grown up" or "edgy: feel.
On another note, what do you all think of my purple, dip-dyed hair? I never thought I'd experiment with colored hair, but Katy Perry's purple hair was just too tempting not to attempt! It's faded into a warmer purple since I dyed it over a month ago, so one of these nights I'm going to slap some more purple over it. Maybe I'll do that today since I have the day off...
I have to work tomorrow (one of the many joys of working retail is that you have to work three out of four Saturdays. Awesome.) but I took today off since I had a concert last night and I knew I'd be getting back late. It also allows me to catch a matinee of Thor 2: The Dark World - or, as I like to call it "Loki three!" But really, is anyone actually going to this movie for Chris Hemsworth?
Who else is going to see Thor 2 this weekend?

I Saw the Autumn Leaves // What I Wore
{sweatshirt//Plato's Closet :: jeans//thrifted :: boots//Nico Nerini :: bracelet//thrifted :: necklace//vintage :: hat//The North Face :: jacket// Tulle via Plato's Closet}
Peoples of the internet: meet my new favorite sweatshirt. I've been really loving Plato's Closet lately. There's one about ten minutes from where I work and I've been making a weekly or so stop there after work lately, and this is one of my favorite finds so far. I got it, and the red pea-coat in the first picture (did I mention the brand is Tulle?) for negative $2 with the bag of clothes I brought in. Can you spell "score"!?
This is what I wore to the pumpkin farm last month. Autumn is one of my favorite seasons. I love the crisp, sunny days of early autumn, but I think the cold, dreary days of October/November might just be my favorite. I was really dreading them in September, but I forgot how nice they really are. Reminds me of why I love the idea of London so much.
This autumn has been especially bittersweet. I lost a dear friend, my kitty of 16 years to kidney failure in August, which has been harder than I can say. I'm still grieving, but as much as I love/loved her and will always miss her, God has used it to show me some changes I need to make in my life, and I'm thankful for that. Still, I'll always miss My Baby. </3
